Our Appeal

This is an appeal from the Bristol Black Carers team to give carers back their rightful title.

The term CARER needs to be given back to individuals who care for someone in the community, not the individuals who do it as a paid job.

Those who are paid to assist CARERS should be given a job title, for example Care Worker.

CARERS responsibilities are 24/7 because they are involved in the cared-for life.

The Care Act 2014 recognises individuals who care for someone as CARERS.

Not those who assist CARERS to deliver care and receive a wage.

Care Workers are visitors in the cared-for life, they go in and out to carry out the assistance required.

Please let us give CARERS back their title.
